A quick trip in a week

My latest travels included Sydney, Port Douglas and Cairns.
Having already been to Sydney, I spent a lot less time sight seeing (Opera house, harbour bridge, Taronga Zoo) and a lot more time relaxing in Hyde Park, reading and shopping!

But, there’s always time for a trip to the Blue Mountains which, literally, takes your breath away.

The Above photo is at the Three Sisters. You can also go down to the first rock and touch it, and head further down to honeymoon bridge. Or, if you’re feeling like a hike, walk to Leura Cascades, Katoomba Falls or Gordon Falls.

If hiking so not your thing, you can just stay at the look out and take in the amazing scenery, or check out the really cute town of Katoomba (you can get to Katoomba straight from Sydney Central).
On the way to the Blue Mountains, stop off in Blacktown and check out Featherdale wildlife park. Where you can have a FREE photo with a Koala, you can’t hold it but most other zoos and parks charge

and try and get a selfie with a Kangaroo.

There’s also other animals, such as Cassowaries and Wombats too.

Port Douglas was next. It’s so cute and I love the place! There’s easy access to the reef is you fancy diving, and there’s great scenery to look at, such as four mile beach! Also check out the Sunday markets if you’re there. There’s lots of clothes and accessories and ornaments that are locally made. Port Douglas is great for some down time, but note that the rainy season is, indeed, rainy.

Next was Cairns! Cairns is hot hot hot! I actually stayed in Gilligans, which I had heard some crazy horror stories about. Buutttttt, it was actually one of the best places I stayed! Beds were great, showers amazing, and couldn’t even hear music from the party below when I was in my room.

I tackled the Skyrail and train back from Kuranda -once again, beautiful scenery as you going over a rainforest! It’s about 40 mins on the Skyrail to Kuranda and I think about an hour and a half train from Kuranda to Cairns train station on the train.

Also did white water rafting! Ahhhhhhhh! It was amazing! I booked through rnr, and got picked up and dropped off at Gilligans. The lads who are the instructors are so nice, they’re there to make sure you stay safe and have a great time, which I obvs did! Was such a laugh, and it gets your heart pumping a bit, so definitely go give it a go!
